Experts in Endodontic / Root Canal Treatment

Endodontics is the area of dentistry also known as root canal treatment. Put simply, it is a procedure used to retain a tooth which would otherwise require extraction. Root canal treatment is necessary when bacteria reaches the pulp (nerve) of the tooth either through decay, gum disease, cracks or trauma.

If your tooth is not treated, a bacterial infection will build up inside the root canals and an abcess develop at the tip of the roots. This will cause pain, swelling and can result in the destruction of bone around the tooth.

The procedure

The only other option is extraction of the tooth which can lead to loss of chewing function, cosmetic issues and drifting of neighbouring teeth.

Dr Edwards has many years of experience in root canal treatment and is highly trained having a masters degree in the subject enabling him to provide the best possible care in a relaxed environment. He uses the latest state-of -the-art equipment including a microscope and has the time required to get the best possible result.
